Barcelona: Buskers, Beer, Beautiful!

First rainbow I saw after leaving Singapore was at Liverpool Airport!!! Okay, ain't very clear cos after i scrambled to take out my camera from my backpack (with a padlock on), the rainbow started to disappear already... ha.. i saw its true beauty nonetheless...

we stayed pretty near the main tourist street in Barcelona called Las Ramblas.... Along this street, there were many many buskers like those above. Quite cool eh...

This is Font Musica... The musical fountain in Barcelona... Quite pretty... but I didn't quite know how to use my lumix to capture nice night portraits... hence i missed out on quite a few gd coloured displays on my cam... again, i saw its true beauty so yup, sorry i'm not able to share it with everyone. HAHA

This is Park Guell... A park designed by a guy called Antonio Gaudi.. He's quite a famous artist. Not only did he design this park, he designed the famous sagrada familia as well... his works are really cool... lotsa mosaic in the park... oh, and i love barcelona 'cos the weather is so good... no need to pile on layers of clothing and yet its cool enough to stroll along whole day!!

These pictures are taken at the Sagrada Familia... A Cathedral in Barcelona... The entire exterior is extremely intricate!!! So amazing... however, it's not completed yet despite Gaudi spending his last 16 years on it. Oh btw, Gaudi died in a tram accident... poor chap... Would love to see the completed cathedral by him... oh... see that spiral stairs at the bottom right corner?? it's supposedly inspired by sea shells... and gosh, after walking to the ground floor.. really a little dizzy... HAHA...

Yo Ho Yo Ho... Welcome to the Port of Barcelona... hehe... Oh, we witnessed the bridge "opening up" to let boats pass through.. and just look at the sheer number of yachts there!!! and beautiful sunset... ahhh

ah.. newfoundland!!! that's Chrissy Colombus (imitation) in the foreground and Christopher Colombus on the column at the back...

Ah... here comes the delicious part... Food in Barcelona is good... The top left hand thing is their local pastry, was kinda expensive but zx bot some and i tried a little... couldn't figure out what it was... that big round pan of yellow rice is called Paella... omg, it's served in almost all restaurants... haha... well, it's NOT nasi bryani despite looking v similar. btw, animal lovers out there, pls don't kill me... but i have to admit that outta the four pieces of meat on the paelle, two were mini chicken drumlets, and the other two were rabbit meat... *oops*... now i'm feeling guilty... ok... NEXT!!! top right hand corner is pita falafel which i ate twice cos its so filled with all kinds of veg and i like veg!! hmm, had the plate of seafood pasta along las ramblas at one of those tentage alfresco style dining... bottom left is the OH-SO-YUMMY italian gelato... the chocolate gelato was sooooo rich, so addictive that i had it twice during my 4 days there... and the pizza is really yummy too... thin-crusted and well baked to the last crisp!!! *droolz*

HUH?? what's that in front of me??? a Donut and a cuppa coffee?? I thought I ordered Cafe + pasta.... INDEED... the pasta is the glazed donut... -_-" diaoz... got a little cheated... but nvm la... the donut was quite nice... HAHA... and i shouldn't have been so ignorant to think that pasta and coffee costs only 1.75 EUR... okay, my bad... my own stupidity... but we were desperate and hungry mah!!

Ah, this was another interesting thing we discovered in Barcelona... THE PUBLIC TOILET!!!! first of all, it was a mixed gender toilet... a little uncomfty when we saw guys and girls inside at the same time... anyway, the fascinating was the DOOR... when the cubicle door is ajar, it is totally transparent and yes, u can see me inside the cubicle (left)... the moment i close the door... it turned opaque!! and u can see the camerawoman sf on the right picture.. that's her reflection... haha... tian ah... i was a little apprehended at first... haha...

btw... did anyone mention alcoholic drinks in spain is dirt cheap??? a can of beer costs 29 cents??? that's S$0.60... a bottle of absolut was arn 8 to 9 Eur... and their local brew, Sangria, a fruity alcohol... can sell for as low as 59 cents per litre in the supermarket... really is cheaper than water... no joke!

before i left barcelona...i knew i had to take a picture of this... a huge giant Casillas plastered on the walls of the metro tunnels... tian ah... he's so shuai... plus he's a goalkey.. *swooned*
