Day 5 - Old European Beauty

Prague is so so so beautiful... Especially the view from and on the Charles Bridge. We walked alot alot alot today... From our hostel in Sokolska to St Wenceslas (where the main touristy/shopping street is). Then went to see the Henry's Bell Tower (nothing much really) and the Powder Tower (just stood outside in awe... in case it's similar to bell tower). we then finally made our way to the Christmas markets at the Old Town Square. It was really pretty with all the nice stalls and the astronomical clock and the gigantic christmas tree (with beautiful lightings! yipee!). Had Chinese Kung Pao rice for lunch at this restaurant (the price was pretty decent!). But because the food at the christmas markets were so tempting, we couldn't help but buy some very nice cinnamon roll called Trdelnik and 'turkish delight' and hot chocolate with cream. Imagine that... holding a nice cuppa hot choc in this cold winter? SPLENDID i tell ya =) Didn't buy alot of things today though. Realised there's nothing really prague about prague. Though it is interesting to see that they sell a lot of Russian Dolls and Bohemian crystals (not cheap tho). For dinner, we hopped into a restaurant on our way to Wenceslas 'cos it was tooooo cold to walk for long in the outdoors. I ordered a pork needle (skew) set with bacon, ham, veg, fries and a cuppa my fave drink, the virgin colada (basically it's pina colada without the alcohol). *Burp* So full now... Definitely put on alotta weight... But heck... I'm still gonna sleep soon. Had a nice chat with my hostel room mates. These are what makes travelling so fun... You get to listen to the stories that your room mates tell... Like how a Mexican once peed on a sacred fire and extinguished it. It had been burning since the French Revolution (imagine how many years ago!) and because of this, the mexican was deported back to mexico and 3 generations of his family can never step into France. Ha... Think about this, "I can't go to france because my grandpa peed on their sacred fire"... like...waddahell!! haha... ok.. zzz
